Hi! My name is Matthew. I am 11 years old. I have been nominated and accepted to go to Washington, D.C. 0n October 15-21,2007 with the People to People World Leadership Forum. I will have the opportunity to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States most prominent monuments and institutions. I am grateful for being accepted to this program based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. The program was started by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. My personal challenge to this goal of going on this trip is that tuition is $2,195, with added airfare and expenses, that comes close to $3,000. Children from all over the world will come together to participate in small group discussions and exercises to experience first hand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus, and foster change. I want to be a future leader of America.
